Historic Bath
is a
10 minute drive where you can visit the oldest
town and church in North Carolina incorporated
in 1705 and home to Blackbeard the pirate.
Lake Mattamuskeet,
a National Wildlife Refuge, is 25 minutes by car
and the largest natural lake in North Carolina
(50,000 acres of lake and swamplands). The lake
is home to thousands of water fowl every year to
include Canadian geese, tundra swans and over
200 different varieties of birds and waterfowl.
The Swan Quarter/Ocracoke ferry
is a
25 minute drive and your gateway to the Ocracoke
Island and the Outer Banks. You can find the
